19 Jul Personal work: Fire artists at sunset

Personal projects are very important to us here at Photography Project.

It’s the time to experiment, try new things, push the boundaries and just plain have fun!

This project was all about fire art on the beach. Thanks to Sanshi from Didgeridoo Breath, we rallied up some amazing fire artists and hit Port Beach late one afternoon to see what we could create.

Well the photography fairies were in the air that night as it was hard to take a bad photo (not always to case on location shoots).

Here are a few of the shots taken:

Timing is very important here. There is only about a 10 – 15minute window when the sunset exposure and the fire exposure were balanced. So we had to move quick and capture what we could in that window.

A few more minutes later and the sky plunges to darkness… which is still fine when you have amazing fire artists painting the most amazing fire trails for you.

Huge thank you to everyone involved and we can’t wait for the next personal project photo shoot. Mmmm…. the thinking cap is on!
